The revolution in medical technology has brought formerly hospital based technology to the office. Many of the procedures we offer are performed in less then an hour with little or no discomfort. Most patients return directly to work. As always, the HEARTCARE CENTER PHYSICIAN (William D. Salerno, M.D.) provides the therapeutic treatments not an assistant, technician or nurse (in many other well known facilities an assistant provides the treatments). Dr. Salerno has traveled and trained in vascular and aesthetic centers across the United States to blend what we feel is the best approach for our patients. He is one of the first 250 physicians in the United States to be certified by the American Board of Phlebology. In addition, we are
constantly continuing to learn new techniques and accrue new knowledge by memberships or
participation in educational activities from organizations such as the American College of
Phlebology, American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, American College of Cosmetic
Surgery, International Society of Endovascular Specialists, International Society of
Cosmetic Laser Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound. VEIN TREATMENT: Keeping with our past commitment of excellence the HEARTCARE CENTER has acquired the latest and safest LASER technology from Laserscope. This will allow us to provide treatment of cosmetically unwanted superficial veins. Veins that are deemed not amenable to laser may be candidates for combination treatment with injection therapy (sclerotherapy) or minor surgical extraction (ambulatory phlebectomy) all of which are performed in the office. The laser we have acquired is extremely state of the art. In addition to being safe on all skin types (the same cannot be said for other lasers), it is patient friendly and has a built in cooling system to increase skin protection and reduce heat perception by the patient. The laser system that we have installed functions superbly in vein reduction. Treatment of advanced varicose vein problems are usually a medical necessity. Varicose vein problems can cause pain, swelling and be associated with skin color change or even skin ulceration. Insurance coverage may apply in such cases. Advanced varicose vein disease can be treated in the office by using a different state-of the-art laser system. By passing a laser fiber directly into the vein, laser energy is applied, effectively closing the abnormal vein. The technique is called ELVeS (Endovascular Laser Vein System) or ELVT ( Endovascular Laser Vein Treatment). Thousands of patients have been successfully treated by this technology as demonstrated by a vast international experience. In the past, patients would need hospitalization and an extensive surgical stripping procedure to get the same results now offered via laser. COMPLEMENTING AESTHETICS: Using laser technology we can provide: LASER HAIR REDUCTION / REMOVAL We encourage you to look at the Laserscope web site to see examples of what laser hair reduction can mean for you. LASER FACIAL REJUVENATION without skin injury is available. Some laser (erbium and CO2 for example) treatments work to smooth skin by essentially removing the top layer of the skin (epidermis) and remodeling the deeper layer of the skin complex (dermis). Although effective, it usually requires down time due to excessive redness, weeping or blistering. Our laser system offers improvement in facial wrinkles by acting at the dermis (below the superficial top layer of skin). It DOES NOT remove the top layer of skin and essentially has no down time. That means you get back to your normal workday, business as usual! LASER FACIAL REJUVENATION decreasing facial wrinkles and increasing skin tone is safe and effective. Additional support in aesthetic care is available by using a combination of: Light Therapy - intense light that works to reduce ACNE or ROSACEA. We also offer PDT for additional hard to manage cases of acne and rosacea. Superficial BOTOX injections. This results in markedly reducing facial wrinkles. Using a very fine needle to inject, most people find the procedure painless. This can result in a remarkable improvement in days that lasts for months! Dermal fillers can be placed under the skin to restore facial fullness, enhance lip features and decrease other facial wrinkles. In selected cases, depressed facial scars may benefit from dermal fillers by restoring skin smoothness allowing more effective cover with make up. The dermal fillers do not require skin testing prior to administration as did Zyderm and Zyplast. We realize that many of these services are not
